The day after our exciting grand opening of the Port Gamble S'Klallam "Be the Change" skatepark in Washington, Ryan and the team hopped on plane to Edmonton, Canada.
WOW! WHAT A DAY! Many weeks of conversations and planning led to a huge surprise and a dream come true for Elise Kwan. Ryan Sheckler sent tweets and Facebook messages of support to Elise as she had endured 5 open heart surgeries over the past six weeks. His show of support culminated in a surprise visit to Elise in her hospital room on April 13, 2014. Joined by Sheckler Foundation director and CEO, Gretchen and Sheckler Foundation Executive Assistant, Angelique, Ryan came and shared laughter, conversation, stories, and yes - a few hugs - with Elise. We cannot express our gratitude to Elise, her family and the incredible team at Ronald McDonald House for helping to facilitate this special visit. It was a moment we will all remember for a lifetime!
